An oldie, but goldie, motherboard from one of the best platforms to ever grace the desktop arena and before AMD became Intel and Intel became… Intel, but incompetent. The AsRock X570 Taichi is a high quality offering from AsRock, who actually went out of their way to make something that wasn’t just minimum spec and make a lovely motherboard that balanced aesthetics and functionality. With 8 SATA ports and 3 PCIex16 slots, as well as a few M.2 PCIe slots thrown in with some bog standard PCIex1 slots for good measure, this full ATX motherboard is a perfect balance for a slightly retro gaming and/or workstation set-up. A little overkill for a NAS maybe, but still offering enough connectivity and features for anyone who isn’t insane enough to think that PCIe 5.0 is relevant for 99% of users for at least another three years. If it is relevant for you, congratulations! You’re either a data scientist or a large server farm and you chuck out SSDs like chicks in a mascerator. Why are you here?
